Ever feel like skull dragging and then gorilla stomping the hell out of people for being inconsiderate and stupid? This is a feeling that emerges whenever I ride the train, bus or cheap airplane. Do you know why you never see really wealthy people, celebrities and business moguls on your large commutes? It’s because of this attitude for the common man, the common man is a loud, ignorant jackass who rarely knows when to shut the hell up or use his inside voice. Being forced to wear ear buds with Ghostface Killah on a high volume to drown people out is beyond annoying to me. Draining the Blackberry battery to jam Pandora radio on the bus, again on a high volume is annoying to me. It’s annoying because I would love to be able to have options, like reading, remember reading?

You’re probably saying to yourself, well why don’t you just read and tune them out? Well it has gotten impossible and I will tell you why. Broke, regular guys love to have loud fights with their broke girlfriends so everybody can hear it on the bus. Loud, unruly, demon children with their worthless parents love to run around the train screaming at the top of their lungs. Women who probably should never have children allow their demon seed to scream and cry for entire 2 hour flights and the air waiters and waitresses do zilch about it. Again I refer back to the reasoning for people with the means to avoid this nonsense not taking part in it. I swear every time I take a trip it motivates me even more to better my financial position just for the luxury of a private jet, an RV or expensive flights where an actual steward will toss demon child and unfit mother out by her ear.

And what’s the deal with people having loud conversations that nobody else would give a crap about. If you’ve done Greyhound you will be feeling me on this unless the perpetuator is you. Let’s not even go into the cellular phone old woman who decides to call everybody she knows for the entire trip in order to kill boredom. What happened to being polite, courteous or at least just a sense of awareness? These types of things while minor do add to the general lack of empathy we feel for others. While gorilla stomping the dude eating smelly fried gizzards in front of me will make me feel good, it doesn’t exactly make me a good citizen does it? Is it really a poor people thing? Is it a lack of culture and exposure thing? I think it’s a people are assholes thing and the less of them in a closed-in environment for more than 10 minutes is a bad thing.

Here’s to first class seats, private transportation, an ignore feature and a mute button. Happy travelling.
