Now all of us old hats can argue that Hip Hop died sometime between 1995 and 1996, while you younglings will say that the music is still going strong etc. Regardless of that old argument, we fans can agree that there are a collective of videos and songs that just make you cringe whenever you hear them. Others are just plain bad and it might have caused that person to be permanently placed on your “do not listen” list due to the wackness. Anyway, being that myself and Nia are Hip Hop heads through and through, we got together and came up with a few videos that we consider to be a black mark on Hip Hop history. Please do not get upset if these turds strike up bad memories for you, we do this in good fun… enjoy:

1. J-Lo and The Lox – Jenny From The Block

As a listener and fan of The Lox, I was beyond disappointed to see my boys rhyming behind this corny ass broad. Given Jenny is fine, that is no reason to help her fail at her attempt to get back some street cred after letting Ben Affleck get that booty. This along with their entire Bad Boy career was not a good look for these talented emcees.

2.  Must Be The Money – Deion “Prime Time” Sanders

Many of you won’t know what this is, you have to be an older listener to remember the time period where athletes were trying real hard at music. Prime Time doesn’t bother me so much because this matched his persona as a flamboyant superstar. I completely got it and while he was laughing all the way to the bank, I was laughing at people taking it seriously. Still the video is hilariously bad… check out the suit!

3. Oochie Wally – Nas

For a very long time Nas of Illmatic fame had lost his mind and resorted to make music that was way below his potential. What is odd about this is like Snoop, everyone remembers his powerful debut so much that he can’t seem to do wrong and will be eternally revered as one of the best. One of the many turds he spit out prior to Jay-Z bitch slapping him back into reality with Ether, is Oochie Wally. On this song he invites his brother, his bodyguard and some other wack emcee to degrade a bunch of video hoes and brag about their d-cks. Stay classy Nas.

4. B.I.G. feat. Puff Daddy & Mase – Mo Money, Mo Problems

Everybody remembers and hates on the shiny suits that Diddy lost his mind and forced on his minions for this video. While surfing the top with mediocre to bad radio hits, this video was so scarring that this is how most people remember Diddy’s legacy to this day. While dissed universally, the impact of the video has sobered a bit due to the death of the Notrious BIG who appears in it but for me it will always be bad. Diddy was and is still bad for Hip Hop. Get money Sean, you corny mother….

5. Laffy Taffy – D4L

Lol… ahhhh Laffy Taffy, not so much the awful video but the song. These clowns actually got together and made up some sort of dirty nursery rhyme rap about candy that resembled genitalia and what they want to do with it. The beat sounds like it was made on a kid’s keyboard and the repetitive crap just stays in your head forever. I really, really apologize for this because it will be in your head for the rest of the day, along with that tall fool spitting the first verse dressed like an idiot.

I wanted to walk into that video and tell him to put the bird back in it’s cage… ie: put a shirt on scrub!
