weight Before you Lie about a Resolution…Let’s be honest, the ritual of the New Year’s resolution is one of lies, deciept and all around bullsh-t. We do it so that we can tell people in hopes of getting their acknowledgement at the idea of you bettering yourself. Innately we are all selfish creatures so we don’t care what everyone’s New Year’s resolution is, we just want to proclaim ours.  If I am sick of hearing people lying about losing weight or making money, I know you all are too, so why join in on this madness? For this reason I have stopped making them.

The most popular resolution of all is the “getting in shape” cliche. Oh boy. Here’s the thing… and you have heard it a million times and shrugged it off. 8 minute abs don’t work, buying a treadmill to have it collect dust in your basement does not work, and paying a guy $60 a month to train you as you avoid his calls and appointments all year doesn’t work either. If you are going to get in shape it has to be a complete lifestyle change. Not willing to do that, then you should consider staying happy with your current size. The biggest time of the year for gyms are the New Year and the months before summer… think about it.

Another fun one is the “making more money” or “saving more” that gets forgotten around Valentines Day or so. Saving money isn’t as easy as saying and doing so, you need to re-educate yourself on finances and the strategy of saving and investing. It isn’t common sense, and it isn’t easy to do, I would suggest you read “The Total Money Make-Over” by Dave Ramsey or turn on Suzie Orman and actually listen to her advice, show some love and buy her books too ladies.

Remember a New Year’s resolution isn’t a resolution unless you actually execute it. Anything less is another lie to yourself that you will repeat next year.  Stay safe folks and if you need a Personal Trainer to run away from next year, let me know, I’ll shoot you his information.
