This restaurant is cozy with the friendliest staff I have met in a long time. There is also a full bar if you would like to enjoy the evening with friends, or try their catering service if you would like to dine in the comfort of your own home. The décor has a very fresh and contemporary feel but not to the point where you cannot enjoy a low key dinner. Even if you bring the kids it’s a great place to enjoy a family meal as they have something for all palates.
The menu is very extensive; there are no less than five pages. The sushi menu is separate and has more than 30 different rolls to choose from. I cannot say enough about the presentation and I encourage anyone to try something new – you will not be disappointed. I tried the mango roll (tuna, avocado, cucumber topped with mango) and it was the most refreshing roll I have ever had. I also tried the jalapeno roll (no wasabi required) and it was very tasty. The staff is well versed in sake and wine and will make recommendations for you upon request while ordering. If you prefer to try your luck, there’s always the sake and wine tasting for two every Sunday where they provide four glasses of wine (two reds and two whites), five shots of sake along with appetizers, and two rolls. The dessert was fried ice cream and I still do not know how they did it, but it was the best ending to a great meal.
Izziban is a great place for tourists, as it’s close to the Disney and Universal area and located right across from the famous Orlando Florida Mall. I recommend it to anyone who is visiting, and locals should make it a staple.
