anstractor book, greg dragon author

So I’ve written a book, a real book of 316 pages filled with all sorts of romantic drama, military skirmishes, and space ships running sorties on planets to liberate aliens. This is a far cry from many of the topics here but believe it or not, it really isn’t. My book “Anstractor” is a story about an orphaned boy who grows up to join the military and eventually help in the fight to win his planet back.

For those of you who follow The Hall of The Black Dragon you know that my love and respect for our military brethren is pretty evident in my writing. Some of the articles that influenced the book are the ones which honored heroes such as Audie Murphy, Ed Eaton, and Henry Lincoln Johnson. Where romance came in, the hero of my story (if you can call him that) dealt with many of the issues we discuss here; issues like self-confidence, infidelity, trust, and overcoming a low self-image to ask out the hottest chick on the ship. Anstractor represents The Hall in more ways than I would like to admit.

Why Did I Write A SciFi Novel?

As a boy coming up—the eldest child to a single mother of two—I found myself playing storyteller to my little brother quite often. Anstractor came from the wild imagination I have always had, and my love for shows like Buck Rogers, Battlestar Galactica, and Star Trek. I would imagine the world, sketch comic books when I should have been paying attention in class, and telling my baby brother stories in order to get him to sleep. Growing up into the man that I am now, I kept this alien world firmly embedded in my brain until it became too much not to commit it to book form.

Anstractor: Vestalia is the first book in the “Anstractor” series that I have written and I plan to do a few more to fully tell the story. The cast of characters are cosmopolitan and the world is far from the mundane one that we live in. I have been getting lots of feedback in the form of reviews and personal conversation (from readers that have finished it) and outside of them telling me it is a great story, I am learning more about myself from what is reflected within its pages.

I hope that if you are a SciFi or romance fan that you will check Anstractor out. As of this writing I will be offering the Kindle version for free until end-of-day Friday, January 31st. The available formats for the book will be paperback, hardcover, Kindle, and audiobook (which is being developed currently). Though this isn’t the book that many expected me to be writing due to my known expertise on men’s topics and relationships, you have to believe me that it really is.

Where To Find/Buy Anstractor

  • Abbaddon

What advice would you give to an aspiring writer? It isn’t the content that I’m having issues with, quite the opposite! Albeit a writer, I am not. any help would be most graciously taken.

    • Hey Abbaddon, what sort of advice are you looking for? Getting a book published, finishing a novel, or is it something else? Shoot me an email to hobdragon -at- gmail and hopefully I can answer.
