anstractor book, greg dragon author

What is the hardest part of writing your books? The hardest part about writing Anstractor is that I am writing to represent a multiverse of several galaxies. Each galaxy has its planets, each planet has its continents and each continent has its people. There are hundreds of races, species, looks and customs. There are political differences, exotic technology, languages, all of which I need to keep track of and reference accurately throughout the various stories. Had I written a book about earth, or something we all know about historically then it would have been a bit easier since all I would have had to focus on was the characters and the situations. The other hard part about my writing is that my genre for Anstractor is Science Fiction. With a genre that has pop culture influences like 1984, Star Wars and Star Trek you… [Read more]

When I think about writing and dealing with criticism it brings to mind the visual of a new comedian who is working a tough room whose audience expects him/her to be Jim Carrey. As we know comedy is varied and while several thousand people may find one man funny, there will be leagues of others who don’t. For that comedian to succeed, he/she will have to get through many nights where the audience is comprised of hostile people that refuse to laugh before he gets to selling out Madison Square Garden with leagues of his fans. Many of us come into writing expecting our readers to be supportive, and if they don’t like our books to at least be civil about expressing their disdain. Who are we to think that we are beyond the phase of booing audience members, rotten tomatoes being thrown, and rivals… [Read more]

Don’t you hate it when your body is sore from months of work but you still look like you slam cookies daily? This is one of the main reasons so many of us quit and use genetics as an excuse not to exercise. One of the biggest secrets to getting bigger and stronger is to continuously challenge oneself and be patient with the results! Trying to get a “beach body” or whatever by Summer when you’ve only started working out in March is a lie that is sold to you by workout gurus that are trying to pimp a machine or a Blu-ray box set. “I don’t know anyone that is a beast off of any workout Blu-ray” When you decide to get fit, it should be a life decision. What I mean by this is that it needs to be a commitment that you… [Read more]

friend zone, kiss, interracial couple

Getting in the friend zone is something that men have lamented since the dawn of time. It is a situation that comes about from a lot of misunderstanding, fear, and a bit of entitlement. Generally men will put the blame on women for the friend zone, we tend to view it as manipulation on the part of the woman. She does just enough to keep you around but when you press the issue of a relationship, she shoots you down or limps away quickly. Comedian Eddie Murphy called it being a “Dick in the Glass Jar” because in essence you are being trained to become an extra “dick” in case the one she wants does not work out. Who here has been friend zoned? This is the part where I raise my hand. Chances are, many of you reading are in this situation right now. Well let’s… [Read more]

What could possibly add on to the perceived “thug culture” of one of the last hyper-masculine sports in the United States? Not much, being that the casual and non-sport fans of the NFL already have the perception that the NFL is comprised of players who are: Uneducated (look at the early reactions to Richard Sherman last season) Criminal (the handful of players who have crossed the law are used to represent the whole) Rapists (Big Ben) Thugs (another term for a scary black person) Over-churched (Reggie White) Racist (Richie Incognito and Riley Cooper) (TBA) The TBA will become “homophobic” by the time we’re into the next season and it will not enhance or destroy the opinion that people have of the NFL already but it will make for a whole lot of news. Right now with Michael Sam announcing that he is gay to the… [Read more]

Life has been hard to the self-proclaimed bitch but she is tired of being kicked down and is ready to be the one doing the kicking. It is a freeing thought this new attitude of “not putting up with your shit” that we take on when we’ve finally decided that we are over being the world’s doormat. There is the need to scream it out at the top of the highest mountain “I am sorry if I am a bitch but…” to let the future users and abusers know that you will not take their fuckery and manipulation lying down. You want to issue the warning that despite your kind eyes and sweet voice you have fangs behind that maw and they would do well to stay on your good side or the bitch will come out and give them a good bite! Women that have… [Read more]

There will always be attraction in an office where men and women work in close vicinity. I would venture to say that when fallout happens at home for an attractive married person, the chance of the person they cheat with being an office-mate is pretty high. Office romances are a byproduct of working closely with someone for a period of time, the freedom of imagination, and that strange magic that makes someone grow more and more attractive to us as we get to know them better. For people who click with an office mate and would like to pursue a romantic relationship, there must be a level of maturity on both sides that is beyond what is expected of a stranger out on the streets. Dating a co-worker puts your job at risk from the outset and you must know the temperament and volatility of… [Read more]

There are two frequently searched terms that I see monthly coming to this website: “why are women unfriendly at the gym?” and “how to attract guys in the gym”. Isn’t it amazing that these questions—obviously from members of the opposite sex—are asking about one of the most controversial aspects of gym membership? For every ten women that are convinced that guys only go to the gym to ogle them for being fat or sexy, there is one that wants to use her gym membership to make a love connection. On the opposite side is the serious lifter who could care less about how many women are in his gym, what they look like, and whether or not they are looking at him. The irony of it all is that the person asking “how to attract guys in gym?” is probably attracted to this “serious lifter”… [Read more]
