Eggstyle is located just west of the Tampa city limits in Oldsmar Florida. The dining room serves breakfast, brunch and lunch. The atmosphere is casual and friendly with an err of sophistication. The décor is warm and upbeat. The dining area is very open with comfortable booth seating just far enough apart that you are not bothered by other conversations. I immediately felt good as soon as I walked through the door, as we were greeted with a friendly smile and a genuine feeling of being welcomed. Aside from being a breakfast restaurant, there is also a separate juice bar area where they prepare smoothies made to order with fresh fruit, honey, yogurt and fruit juices, which is a great for those just passing through for a healthy fix.
Side note: I usually do not comment, but I find it imperative to mention this.. I did take a trip to the ladies’ room and I must say that it was probably the cleanest bathroom I’ve seen in a very long time at a restaurant. I subconsciously compared it to a bathroom in a five star hotel (you know, the kind where someone goes in every 15 minutes to make sure all is well). Clean floors (no water/puddles on the tiles), dry countertops, touchless papertowel dispensers, and hand lotion. ALWAYS A PLUS!!
The menu automatically struck me with surprise. Where you expect a regular cheeseburger, Eggstyle upgrades to Portobello and brie, which puts a strong emphasis on upscale taste and quality with a lowscale price point. There are almost ten different types of eggs benedict with four different types of homemade hollandaise sauces. Separate menus for omelettes, waffles, flapjacks, crepes and blintzes. All orders come with tea or coffee. It was almost impossible to decide what to try first, which brings me to our very knowledgeable server. She knew the menu from front to back and was able to describe each dish in question with a “foodie” flair. I had the smoked salmon eggs benedict with their homemade dill hollandaise sauce. The presentation was superb. The eggs were perfectly poached, the capers added just a touch of salt, and the salmon melted in my mouth – no chewing necessary. And if that was not enough, the food was brought out in less than 10 minutes.
Would I go back to Eggstyle? YES!! It is my new favorite breakfast spot.
