I happened upon an article that happened to hold some excerpts that hold the claim to assist in understanding the male brain. I tentatively clicked on this article, wondering what would be found within. Would there be some meaningful insights that would shape the way that I would from here on in understand men?? I would not. Dr. Eric Haseltine, author of Users Manual for the Male Brain posits a theory and then a practical application for understanding the male brain. Theory: The male brain is better at spatial tasks, such as visualizing objects in three dimensions, than verbal tasks, such as recalling words. Practical Application: Explain difficult concepts—like why it’s important to keep the house neat—in visual terms, not verbal terms. Better still, show what you mean, don’t say it. For example, illustrate the benefits of tidiness by going to the other extreme. Scatter… [Read more]

While the contents of this post are very factual, this article is meant to be taken in a lighthearted manner. So if you do not have your sense of humor cap on today then kindly keep it moving. Without further adieu, I present to you the way to a man’s heart from A-Z: Adventurous: Most men want to travel, want to try new things and want to play “dress up” for sex but WE ARE LAZY! We need a soul mate to push us over the edge and expose that side of our spirit. Beauty: A man may not compliment you every time you change your hair color or your shoes, the fact of the matter is he does appreciate the extra effort on your part to be beautiful. Cleanliness: Sugar and spice and everything nice – most men believe women should be the clean/neat… [Read more]

Have you ever been out with a girl and she runs into her ex or another male friend, doesn’t introduce you, and the conversation turns into a lengthy one? Of course you have, we all have, but what did you do? Did you fidget, did you force an introduction, or did you make a scene? When this situation occurs, you can’t help but feel like a fool and you will either walk off to find something else to do, or stand there looking lonely and awkward. There is a way out of this awkward situation if you’re willing to listen, but it lies in the aspect of “becoming that guy” at the opportune moment. Normally a good girl will introduce you to the guy so that you aren’t left stranded, but some won’t remember and you will be left to fade into the background like a theater prop. If this is the… [Read more]

People always say that its only when pet peeves and annoyance comes into play that you realize how much you are willing to put up with when it comes to dating. Once you know how much you are willing to put up with (and what you definitely are not) you tend to migrate towards and settle with someone who fits that mold. Then there’s that woman.  We all know who she is. The one who for whatever reason makes her issues the sole controller of her emotions when she meets someone and gets close to a real relationship.  It almost seems that she is more comfortable when she is getting screwed over, doesn’t it? I have known women in the past who have put up with a lot of wrongdoing and they truly didn’t deserve it.  Makes me think that nice girls really do finish last.  It’s like when… [Read more]

Three men at a bachelor party

Having attended and partially hosted a number of bachelor parties, I have learned that it is very easy to get the groom burned instead of entertained and sent off into the magical world of marriage. Most of the problems that arise from this tradition is due to men behaving badly, and though most of it is avoidable, you will always have an idiot losing his mind and burning everyone in the process. Selfishness and a spotty memory comes with the alcohol that flows at a bachelor party, so it becomes really easy to forget why you’re there. The bachelor parties that end up being the most successful tend to be the ones where the groom’s true friends are there. Friends who want to make sure that whatever they do, the man is entertained and sent off properly. Disaster strikes when you have a married guy… [Read more]

We all know that girl who has a kid or kids and who has not owned up to the sacrifice that comes with putting someone else’s life before hers.  She is the one who is still living her life the same as it was prior to her becoming pregnant. This girl gives off a “babysitter” feel and not a “child rearing” feel. Consequences of the child’s future do not enter her mind, usually because she was either never taught to care for a child (only to “watch” the child) and never had a positive role model on how to do so. I want to give advice to this woman. Not because I look down on her, but because I think she needs to wake up in order to reap the many rewards of motherhood.  If you are a woman who leaves your kid with your mother on… [Read more]

Attractive couple working out together

Lets face it folks, when you find someone to love, you tend to get a lot of good out of it but there are some bad things that snake their way into it. One of the bad things is fat, yup, fat … it sneaks in, it makes you bigger, and before you know it you’re on the scale like “WHAT IN THE WORLD!” So what makes relationships so fattening? I’ll tell you what it is, most of us were working out to get with someone in the first place. Now that the goal is attained, we see it as a chore, and we stop paying attention to ourselves. What most experts suggest we do about this is to use ours partner as springboards to promote proper nutrition and exercise. Do things together and it doesn’t become a compromise, if he/she (the one we love) is lazy then… [Read more]

Bachelors, do women find it intimidating when you keep your home spotless? I would think this to be false but quite a number of men have reported that they get snide remarks and more when they bring a woman home to a clean place. “Dragon, I’ve come to the unfortunate realization that a lot of chicks actually get intimidated by a man with a ‘together’ pad. It seems to take some of the ‘challenge factor’ away from you. Through my experience, showing chicks my crib has hurt me, more than helped me.” – Anonymous male So if we’re to believe anonymous, would it be better to dirty up the place before bringing a girl home? Should we not be embarrassed if the dishes pile up and our clothes are all over the place? Should we settle on a “he tried to clean up but not… [Read more]
