Many times in the past I have asked married people to stay in their lane when it comes to singles, their dating, and their love lives. The reason for this is the incessant pandering, needling, and urging that married friends tend to do in order to beg their single friends to join the club. Can’t stand to be miserable alone I guess (I kid), but I can count on my hand the number of married couples I know that don’t do this.  Recently a buddy of mine met a lady that he really liked and since she was posting so many photos of them having a good time together they agreed that flipping dat ‘ol Facebook switch would not be a big deal. A relationship status to match their reality and then all of the guessing by admirers, nosy folks, and well-to-dos would go away…. [Read more]

There seems to be a disturbing pattern developing online where child celebrities are being treated with as much ire as their adult counterparts. People voice their negative opinions on public spaces but that negative opinion is normally in the form of personal attacks. Online bullying has been revealed as a real thing over the years and many kids have suffered from it in one form or another. Children get YouTube videos posted about them and the disgusting commentators anonymously tear them apart with glee. In the last few years there have been more than a few suicides to come from this. Are we to believe that child celebrities are somehow different and the attacks against them aren’t read, heard and taken the same way? Or is it the same as with many things concerning the haves and the have-nots where we assume that money makes… [Read more]

I’m guilty as hell of being one of those giants who refused to date elf-types for fear of the pedophile suspicions or just the sheer weirdness of the height difference – go ahead and hate me. I’ve been 6’2” for an extremely long time and it took me an equally long time to get over my phobia of short women. Men get discriminated against daily for their height by women who find no issue in voicing their opinion in extremely harsh and ugly ways. I guess that we are a race of human beings who love giants because on either side of the gender line if you hover lower than 5’3” there is an instant problem with it. Consider the excuses we make when it comes to dating someone shorter: Men – “She looks like she’s 12”, Women – “I can’t wear heels with him… [Read more]

If you are a man and guilty of any of the following, please report to the nearest Self-Respect Rehabilitation Clinic. 1. Put on their Special Girl Voice Many men do this without noticing so I won’t be too harsh on you boys. What I am talking about is when a man changes the way he talks when he’s around a woman. Some guys put on the sly, Jake Gyllenhaal sounding voice and others try to sound smooth like a Justin Timberlake or Usher Raymond. Macho guys talk low like Keith David, and some just invent some crap out of thin air. I wonder if women notice this, especially when the guy gets around other men and his voice is revealed? 2. White Knight You’re having a heated debate with a woman about whether Subway tastes better on bread or in a wrap when in comes… [Read more]

This isn’t easy for me to write as in my life, I’ve been both and now i strictly speak as a boss chick. Recently, I was watching a program where this girl tries to dress up for her man but doesn’t QUITE know how to do it. She comes to his office event wearing heels and she’s stumbling everywhere. Her husband gets super pissed and just asks her to go home because she inconvenienced him. From both sides, I understood the problem. Girls need to understand that men don’t particularly care what you wear as long as you can pull it off and look good; and men need to understand that she did this ALL for you. Stop hurting her feelings and at least acknowledge her without being a heartless bastard. It helps and pays dividends in your life because the grudges women can keep… [Read more]

I follow a number of attractive women on Social Media and there has always been this trend of creeper, loser-types who post comments that they assume is flattering to women. Most of the time it is internet bravery that comes out as creeper text because the guys posting are anonymous, horny, and could care less what anyone thinks. Yesterday, I ran into the same situation on Google+ with one of the women in my circles where she snatched her photograph down because of the zerg of sophomoric commentary about her looks. The White Knights came out en masse to dab the tears from her internet eyes, not knowing that like the former commentators, they were as much a part of the problem as the offenders. Why do I say this? Well the problem with White Knighting is that it normally comes with the game of… [Read more]

When the Applebees incident with Pastor Alois Bell occurred it sparked a lot of discussion on restaurants, servers and tips. One thing is for sure about this topic is that it’s a very subjective one unless you query people who work as waiters themselves. People who haven’t will have their assumptions but the following list of 25 things are some facts that you may or may not be aware of. Servers hope that you ask for separate checks BEFORE you order. Waiters and Waitresses like you to use their name once they tell you. If you’re Asian, black, or over 50 they don’t expect you to tip well or tip at all. Over-tipping will not change this attitude… it will only “other” you. If you have an accent they don’t expect you to tip well or tip at all. When your food is slow it… [Read more]

old men talking

Sometimes we have these small habits that may be born from insecurities, past experiences or being an introvert. The term “socially awkward” does not always mean a person who stands quietly in the corner staring at Reddit.com on their smart phone; it can also means someone who comes off as a spaz when engaged in conversation. Many of us have friends who do things that are unacceptable in a general sense but since we love and accept them it doesn’t seem so bad… until a new person is added to our clique and reacts. Imagine if you were that person but nobody bothered to tell you that you are an annoying ass? Well this is why I felt the need to make the following list of things that tend to piss people off. 1. Unconsciously talking about yourself – Take it from an award winning… [Read more]
