voluptuous melyssa fordThere is absolutely nothing more sexy than a grown woman with a figure that’s solid. Think Serena Williams, Melyssa Ford, Vida Guerra, and Jessica Biel. Do you know what these women have in common besides celebrity? They work out. They aren’t disillusioned 30-somethings sloppily wearing the clothes they wore back in their early twenties.

Many women who were once “built” or “voluptuous” are now heavy and still dress like the days when they were goddesses. It’s sad to see women dress as if they still got it and I blame us men for perpetuating the facade.

The reason this happens is because women neglect their maintenance, all the women I mentioned earlier have a workout regimen. The only people that can get away with eating and living without workout maintenance are ex-athletes with godly metabolism, genetic freaks of nature or full time dancers.

This isn’t a rallying cry to make thick, voluptuous women skinny – not at all. Plenty of guys aren’t into the bone thin trend that the media plagues us with daily (oh ya rail thin with fake boobs… forgot that part). So the defensive argument of “I can’t get skinny like that!” is not the point, we aren’t talking about skinny, we are talking about healthy and sexy.

It’s important for women of thick ethnicity to respect, love and cherish their naturally curvy figure, but when you disillusion yourself to believe that you will always be firm like you were at 18 years old… when you were eating McDonalds with your girlfriends, then you have a problem.

If you are reading this and you are still shapely, but lack the discipline for exercise, consider changing your lifestyle. We live in a society that force feeds us quick result, 8-minute abs, the scam of the week convenient exercise-o-matic, etc. etc. but we are also force-fed good information on dieting and exercise.

Stop for a second and listen, find a healthy living website or magazine and get motivated. Exercise is important, and if the feeling of being fit and in shape could be conveyed into words I would happily share it but I can’t. It is something you will have to experience yourself.

Get in the gym ladies, get in the gym and add some maintenance to that awesome body. Trust me, there’s more than a few of us who will notice.
