Many of you have talents, both evident and hidden within you, but you fear taking action to present them to the world. You look at the people who act, and you say “I wish I could do that”, or “One day I will do that”, but time has never been about uplifting the doubtful. People don’t help, especially if they know that they can sway you towards the negative, and many of us aren’t born with enough of that fire to push past everything and strive to ascend. This does not mean that you should accept that being stagnant is your fate. I will not sit here and pretend to know the answer for motivation, and enabling action, but I can tell you that failure is not as devastating as you think it is. Failure is a part of the game, and while success is what… [Read more]

I am a hardcore reader. This has been true since I was a young boy sneaking through my mother’s novels, up until now where I fly through about two books a week. Reading has never been a bother; it has been a privilege. When I first started to think about writing a book, I was going to make it an extension of the Hall, and expound upon a topic that I felt would be helpful to our young men. My aim was to write a book about confidence. I wanted to show boys how to attain it, through proven methods, and personal ones that have helped me through the years. When I got to about 30,000 words I began to do research on reader demographics, and what I found knocked the wind out of my sails. I put a stop to the book, which I… [Read more]

By now, you have gotten your fill of the public stoning of Baltimore Ravens, once, star running back Ray Rice. He is the newest media hamburger: stacked, grilled, beefy, and ready to feed any writer that needs an article—like yours truly on this Monday night. Rice is facing charges (legally and otherwise) for jabbing his wife in the face, in a Las Vegas elevator. This happened back in February, but recently, he was put on blast, by a leaked TMZ video. Meanwhile, in bigger news, we have more be-headings going on, police publicly executing black boys in the street, and a disease outbreak that will make the oh-so-coveted Zombie Apocalypse look like the flu. However, the NFL is back in season, the players make more money in a year, than we will ever see in a lifetime, so we all focus on them. It is… [Read more]

Dear Dragon, I am an energetic individual that happens to love sex. I have been going out with a girl for almost a year now and I am the romantic type—I love to randomly bring flowers, cook dinners, take her out places, and all of the above. When we started dating, my girl was getting drunk all of the time and since we originally met at a bar we continued to go out to bars—where she would get drunk. When she drinks she drinks a lot and then becomes very sexual with me. It was amazing, we were doing it before bed, she would wake me up in the night for it…you get the picture. Recently things have changed. She has confessed to me that when she was younger she got sexually molested, so she is very uncomfortable with sex. We haven’t slept together in… [Read more]

Oh, the Summer of Love. No, I’m not talking about that San Fran hippie love fest back in 67’. I’m talking about using Tinder, a mobile dating app to find potential local flings during the sweltering dog days of summer. Although I guess you can say 2014’s Summer of Love is definitely redefining the dating game and is slowly building itself as a social phenomenon. For those who are unfamiliar with Tinder, it’s essentially the shallowest form of a location based dating service as you shuffle through pictures of your desired gender and solely judge them based on their pictures. With an emphasis on physical attraction, it cuts the bullshit of getting to know somebody and boils down to the human’s most biological urge of reproducing with a mate (hottie) they find attractive. Is it lackadaisical? Yeah. Is it superficial? Hell yeah it is…. [Read more]

When I sat down recently to interview New York-based starlet Cameron Hill, it was difficult to reconcile this outspoken young woman with the playful former elementary school classmate I had once known. Gone were the ribbons and pigtails, and in their place was an obvious confidence and unforced sex appeal, which is ironic, since she pointedly denied seeing herself as sexy. FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVEN’T HEARD OF MS. HILL…. ….You must be living under a rock. Just ask any New Yorker about the “Pum Pum Song” and they’ll tell you all about Cameron Hill. With a lyrically raunchy first offering on her EP and the Reverbnation Songwriting Competition win under her belt, Cameron Hill is set to follow in the footsteps of other successful Caribbean artistes such as Rihanna and Nicki Minaj. A MUSICAL AWAKENING With a background in gymnastics, swimming, and water… [Read more]
