The word ‘Man’ comes with a variety of definitions from many different people who (respectfully) have their own means and agendas doesn’t it? Man is defined through the individual’s subjective opinion, influenced (and not lightly) by religion, society, race, prejudice and theories. This of course includes myself so let me start by saying that this is one man’s opinion. There is no universal codex on what a man is. There is however a code that a person can adapt and abide by for life–which makes him stand out as an extraordinary individual–therefore earning the label of “A Man”. This code is what being “a real man” is about. Not a specific type of man, but a certain type of man: a gangster and a gentleman all rolled into one. A man is defined by his actions. His honor above all else, and then there is… [Read more]
If you aren’t watching History TV’s Vikings then first of all I am mad at you, second of all I am about to fix your life. Here, click this link (right here), watch the awesomeness, then come back and finish reading this article. Vikings is where it’s at. Now when I call Vikings “the most manliest show on TV” (right now), what I mean is that it takes us to a place of raw, unbridled, machismo. seriously, I had a buddy who sat through an episode with me and he swore off skinny jeans forever after seeing Rollo (character on the show) solo an entire army with a club… Dead serious. It is the kind of show that will make your feminist Twitter activist wife cringe since the characters aren’t written to fit neatly into a 2014 ideal. The setting is dirty, grimy, and absolutely… [Read more]
Ladies and Gentlemen let us have a serious talk about relationships and what they mean to us. I only ask that you read this article in its entirety before commenting because the title does not necessarily reflect all of the opinions within. That being said, I have to ask – how many of you are in relationships where your mate’s salary makes you feel the need to do better in order to compete with them? See where I’m going with this? Okay let’s rap a taste. I read so many articles where the writer—the token college-educated, semi-successful but hopelessly single blogger—laments the shortage of men who want a woman that will “challenge” them ambitiously. What this reads to me is that the woman comes into the relationship expecting that the man will do his best to make sure than he is the breadwinner. Here we… [Read more]
Recently I went with a few friends to check out my favorite Marvel Superhero do his thing in Iron Man 3 – I won’t lie, the movie lover in me enjoyed it… It was a nice love story. I got so caught up in the whirlwind of Pepper and Tony’s love that I didn’t realize how far the Iron Man himself had swayed from the one I grew up with. The original Iron Man was created for a specific reason–like most super heroes that helped to push war propaganda–but to the kids buying and reading the comic books he was something to look up to. Tony Stark may have had an invincible suit of armor at his disposal but he was one of the most vulnerable heroes of the Avengers. His injured heart that was ravaged with shrapnel was spared due to friendship and ingenuity…. [Read more]
You would think that men would be smart enough to fight back against women demanding unrealistic and uncharacteristic things in a relationship, but the vicious cycle of strong women making punk-ass beta men play the part of loving husband while lusting for strong alpha men will continue. Do you know why? Because horny men with no self-esteem will allow it to happen, that is why. Yesterday I was listening to one of my favorite radio shows and the deejay was taking calls from people who wanted to vent. One of the callers was from a woman who started off by bragging that she has a Sugar Daddy. “Great!” I thought, “this should be good”. The woman goes on to talk about how her living situation as well as her child’s depended on this Sugar Daddy and how he put her up in her apartment and… [Read more]
Hot women, sepia toned cinematography, plastic, and alpha males acting like alpha males… what’s not to love? Check out this awesome video and song Blurred Lines by Robin Thicke and 2 of our 10 best dressed men in hip hop (Pharrell and T.I.). It’s the kind of video that reaches back to a time when boys could be boys, hell even the lyrics would make a feminist cringe but for this guy, it made me smile. Oh and if you’re not at the job and want to see the real version of this video where the birds are fully naked… search for it. Funny how nudity comes off as less offensive when it’s done in an artistic way eh?
Recently I saw a Pepsi commercial with the lovely Sofia Vergara and it managed to turn me off of a woman who is naturally irresistible. How, you may ask? Well it wasn’t her obsession with wanting a can of soda so bad, but the fool of a man who put himself out there and thought her needy mannerisms were intended for him. I’m sure the women watching found it funny and the men were too busy watching Sofia’s lips… but it was a reminder of what every man fears when going for beautiful women. It was the intent of the commercial after-all no doubt written by a man who knows how much it sucks but I am going to use it as a teaching moment for everyone. If you haven’t seen the ad, here it is: Mistake #1 – Turning Around After The Diss I think a man… [Read more]
1. Michael Phelps Defines Champion How absolutely Alpha is Michael Phelps? Going out on top, snatching every gold that they dangled in his face and paving his own path as a legendary Olympian. I found it funny how the media tried it’s damndest to create drama for the titan with rumors of rivalry with a teammate and his dating a strange s“hot” blonde who they feared was out to dig gold. Phelps’ Teflon ability to keep it classy, humble and professional when facing a hot mic made him that much more impressive as all the rumors fell apart due to them failing at shaking up his gangster poker face. 2. We Still Had James… For all the changes in modern culture to do away with Alpha males it was great to see that the most Alpha of them all is still a relevant hero in… [Read more]
