Deal Breaker: noun. Any issue or factor that is significant enough to terminate a negotiation. It could be that she loves pop music and you do not. She loves gourmet meals on a Friday night, but you are content with your Ramen noodles and chicken wings. You always put things back where you got them from and she is from the school of “I’ll do it later”. Whatever it is, if you treat it like a serious issue, it can always become a deal breaker. You have to remember that not all people have the same thought process when it comes to pet peeves and character flaws. Communication is the key to compromise in a relationship rather than breaking the deal. She may not know that every single time you get inside your car and Pink is blaring through the radio it makes your skin crawl to the point of resentment. Tell her how you… [Read more]

Do you find yourself discriminating against another driver based on the vehicle that he/she is driving? well I realized that I do and this is due to the habits of more than a few individuals who drive a particular make and model of car. Now I know that dicks come in all shapes and sizes, and that a dick in a Beamer is just as much a dick as he was when he was driving a Corolla but when you come across five Beamers and they all drive like assholes, you are going to anticipate the next one and act according. Now I am a road bully, I drive aggressively and I lack patience for people who drive slowly, those who seem to be lost and the idiots who pull out from driveways blindly. Oft times being a Sci-Fi head, I wish I had some oil slick or a flame thrower a la Mad Max,… [Read more]

There are times when we men will take a woman out, swear we did well then wonder why the chick won’t return calls or texts. It’s time like this when you should apply the 3-strike rule and move on if she turns out to be a flake. The worst thing that you can do is to continuously chase a woman who has no interest in you. The second worst thing that you can do is to be on call for a woman who flakes out on you, then keeps you in her rolodex in case her current distraction does not work out. As always I stress self-respect over everything else. No matter how magical you think a woman’s nether regions are, your self-respect is not worth sacrificing for it. So you took her out and after 2-3 attempts she is either too busy or not answering at all. Here’s a list of things that may… [Read more]

So what is the future of fighting games? Street Fighter 4 has jump started the genre by bringing back veterans of the old series and attracting new blood to the competition. With the next installment being released soon, the upsurge can only continue to build until like it’s predecessors it dies down until the 5th sequel. But it worries me that only a few games are viable as true winners in the fighting game genre. Offhand I think Street Fighter, Tekken and Soul Calibur when people ask “which fighting games should I be playing?” Sure you hobbyist gamers will jump on the new Guilty Gear clone or SNK niche title but is it worth it when you log into the network and find only 5 French guys qeued up to challenge you? (Cough KoF 12). When Marvel vs Capcom 2 was anounced, the nostalgia and positive memories of a huge roster combining our favorite Capcom… [Read more]

It still baffles my mind to this day as to why Star Wars Galaxies and Everquest (though not so much) are the only MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Roleplaying Game) to cater successfully to different types of gamers. There is a continuous stream of newer, prettier MMO games being released yearly, yet they all offer the same crap in a different shell. They are one-dimensional, RPGs (minus the RP) that are meant as time-sinks to attract the loyal wave of MMO gamers who will swoop in, max out their levels and fly away to play something else. It’s a vicious cycle of the same thing in and out. The typical MMORPG assumes that every player is interested in being a hero. This is incorrect on many fronts, not everyone wants to be King Arthur, Conan the Barbarian or Legolas. Some players are quite fine being a simple blacksmith, a cobbler, an adventurer or a dancer. When… [Read more]

At a very young age our parents have always taught us that being nice to people was a great quality to have. Think about all the times when you were young and you didn’t want to share your toys with the other kids, and your parents told you to “be nice”. Also remember the saying of “treat people how you want to be treated”? Those were all concepts and theories that was taught to us when we were growing up. Unfortunately when it comes to relationships there are times when you can be too nice, too selfless, and too considerate. When those types of features are present it can put your current relationship or your chances of getting that person you are pursuing in jeopardy. Here are a few examples to help you see if you fall into that category of the person that’s “too nice”. One of the first signs people pick up on… [Read more]

Such a cliché to say the nice guys finish last. I have had my share of bad boys and had numerous conversations with my girls about why we go for the bad boy type vs. the nice guy. All have several reasons but it boils down to a few general topics that will give a bit of insight to why women stay with the one who treats them like yesterday’s garbage, but that dude who showers her with compliments and is always there when she needs him is kept in the “glass jar”. Nice guys tend to have a weak chase game. Most women have an innate need to feel wanted and love being pursued. Nice guys have an approach where they give distance. They do not want to come off as rude or like they just want to get into your pants. This is not a bad thing, as women also love to be… [Read more]
