We’re not only writers, we’re readers and below are some of the highlights of the past few weeks that we wish to share: Shatter Unnecessary Comfort Zones – About three years ago, I had one of the most exciting experiences of my life: I went kayaking. As someone who cannot swim, the thought of kayaking is something I would have never imagined I would do. One of my best friends, Dr. Renaldo Blocker, convinced me to go kayaking, although I was opposed at first. Even though I knew there were some potential risks associated with kayaking, I did not allow those risks to prevent me from having a truly fun adventure… (REVPAID) The Side Chick Chronicles~ Part One – Let’s not be coy, infidelity has become the new normal. So for all the side chicks, aspiring side chicks and side chicks who don’t know they’re side chicks this is for you. I encourage the “main… [Read more]
If you’re like me and you’ve seen this DirecTV ad with the “Genie”, you would wonder who the exotic looking beauty was, snapping her fingers and batting her eyes. Well it turns out that this Genie is none other than Hannah Davis – a fashion model for Ralph Lauren. Hannah is oddly famous on the internet for being the latest in Derek Jeter’s long line of stunning girlfriends and has a smoldering hot Sports Illustrated photo shoot that we give you a sample of following this article. You don’t see a Hannah Davis level of dime piece every day and the fact that she grew up in Saint Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands adds just a sprinkle more spice in her already flavorful ingredients. Can we get an Emeril Lagasse BAM! For how bad this woman is? So here’s the lovely Genie, we of course know that while she may be able to snap and give… [Read more]
Around the area where I live (Florida) the dress code has always been one of relaxation. This sounds good to an out-of-towner because the sunny South is associated with vacation, retirement and peace. Work around a “vacation spot” for a few years and you realize that it is anything but that—unless you are Mitt Romney rich—because like anywhere else people struggle to get by. In the South boys sag their pants, wear wife-beaters as tank tops and long shorts that seem to favor boxers. These same kids will wear flip-flops to complete the “I just got out of bed” ensemble but will wear long socks with it. It would be fine if the fashion was the end of this movement but the people who dress this way seem to take on the attitude of sleepiness. At the movie theater I listened in on an assembly of teens all decked out in their bedtime gear and… [Read more]
Olympian Ryan Lochte is solidly one of the boys and as his name gets more and more popular his opinion will begin to gain importance amongst his fans and worshippers. If you haven’t been paying attention to the Olympics in London you may not know who this man is but sooner or later you will. Recently Lochte expressed his love for women who wear his button down shirts and nothing else, so we felt it necessary to show our agreement. Check out the following gallery of women that would make Ryan Lochte flash his custom made grill.
I live in Florida, a state that I like to regard as the boob job capital of America. Girls here for the longest time have been enhancing themselves with mixed results from the male population because I will be the first to say that tits and ass don’t automatically make you sexy – excuse my frankness. You either have it or you don’t, some have it hidden and can bring it out by learning how to walk, talk and play the part but if you’re wack, you’re wack and the only person that can change that was your creator. In other words some people need to quit while they’re ahead. Now I’m not naïve, I know that girls being teased, ignored or dissed will lead them to go under the knife but this article is for women that are already sexy as hell who still feel the need to enhance themselves. Please, please, please don’t… [Read more]
The beauty industry is the ugliest in the world, THE ugliest. No ifs, ands, or buts! I may have a biased view on this stance, but working numerous years in the beauty industry has made me realize one thing. If you aren’t attractive, you won’t be getting a job working behind a cosmetics counter or in a Parfumerie. It’s the horrific truth and all applicants are judged on their looks first. I know this because I was recruiting for “appropriate staff” for Chanel and YSL cosmetic counters and conducting interviews with applicants. One day my account manager had been off sick for a while and I had to step in and run the account myself with the leadership skills I had; for example: run figures and everything that comes along with the position. To me, when recruiting – it was about the skills and final delivery that the person presents, but my manager had different… [Read more]
If there’s one thing I can say about hip-hop it’s that fashion is so fluid that in the span of five years one person dressing a certain way versus another would almost contrast in style. This is why in this top 10 list we chose rappers that have transcended the fads and always look like a million bucks whenever you see them. While most tend to look like idiots when they try to dress up like the Italian gangsters from movies that they love so much, some guys have a fashion sense and look the part whenever you see them. This list was compiled based on the degree of clean and also the amount of times these men have had a bad day. You will find that the top three or so always look good whenever you see them while the ones towards the end are a bit hit or miss. Of course the list… [Read more]
“Pull up yo britches!!” This phrase used to be heard whenever there was a person wearing their pants, slacks, or jeans below the waist (usually without a belt) out in the black community. However, nowadays, you really don’t hear that phrase, even though, the practice of wearing pants below the waist or “sagging” as it has been termed has become more common place. You’ve seen them. That guy wearing the wife-beater, boxers and buttocks proudly exposed above their jeans, which are “sagged” so low they might as well be socks. They’re everywhere, in our schools, streets, and especially on our TV. It is unfortunate that this has become the stereotypical uniform of our black youth. Youth, who are just mimicking the fashions seen in music videos produced by Hip Hop’s finest, such as Lil Wayne, Yung Joc, and many others. A fashion trend, believe it or not, that has its origins in our prison systems. … [Read more]
