To the average man it seems as if women want 150% of our attention, all the time… they want us to play on their time, in their stadium, in their city. When asked “what must a man do for a woman to respect our personal guy time?” The answer is always “make time for her”, but how much time is enough time? What about the chick with nothing going on, who will keep you on the couch watching crap TV for hours if you let her? Men don’t find that fun, interesting or remotely desirable – but we feel we have to, or the woman will leave. Sound like hell? Well gamers, loners and forever-aloners, I offer some solutions to your woes with the boring, seemingly demanding woman in your life who always has something to say when you’re enjoying your thing. What’s Her Issue Anyway? Women are selfish and competitive with your attention. This… [Read more]

If opinions are like assholes then this one needs about 2 rolls of toilet paper, a colonoscopy and a manual on personal hygiene. In this day and age if you eject this insult at a potential mate as if you expect to get confirmation, chances are you will be labeled a douchebag and dumped promptly. Many of you reading have this opinion and I will not turn this into a “let me play my video games in peace” article, instead I am going to break down why this argument won’t win you any favors from both men and women. Gaming is no longer a genre, it’s a medium We have television, computers, video games , smart phones and multimedia devices. On my Playstation 3 I am either watching a Blu-Ray movie, Netflix, the NFL package or playing Assassin’s Creed (for now). For people who assert that I am a childish bottom feeder, I have… [Read more]

Many non Asian guys (of the anime and video game persuasion) wonder why their lust for Asian women is frowned upon and ridiculed and I thought to explain it through this article. The reason for this is that it’s become such a norm in nerd society that it is beginning to lose it’s negativity and seeming like a normal trait of anyone who plays games. Let’s break down in list form what you have to do in order to be considered a part of the problem. You have an Asian fetish if: You utter the words “omg she is sooo Asian!”. You see Asian women not for their looks or personality but for their “features” You envision your future Asian wife in a kimono and waiting at home to greet her nerd-san at the door. You imagine that sex with an Asian girl is like a Japanese porno where she screams continuously while you devour… [Read more]

Editor’s Note: So rumor-mill has revealed that Kim Kardashian may be the next Lady Lara Croft on the big screen and that led me to think of this old article I wrote for 3GodKings.com (our sister site). Without ripping Kim for her acting (for which I haven’t seen), I can anticipate garbage just off the premise that video game movies are bad and to place a new “actress” in the role of a very familiar heroine just sounds like a recipe for disaster. It is a common reaction by Gamers and movie-goers alike to groan and sigh when the announcement of a video game movie is made. How can you expect otherwise when we have experienced the failures of Street Fighter, Double Dragon and Doom? There aren’t many movies that have been acceptable to Gamers outside of the rendered CGI ones like Final Fantasy: Advent Children and a few other animes like the Street Fighter… [Read more]

With Bioware’s hit MMORPG The Old Republic on the horizon, many of us will find ourselves subscribing and playing with hundreds of people worldwide. Sure there will be Jedi’s, Boba Fett wannabes and assassins but there will also be social exchanges, vented chat and run-ins with attractive people. Communication will range from text, to live chat, to real life meetings, depending on how close you get to other players. Of course with interaction comes attraction and from attraction comes the urge to bump uglies. One thing that I’ve always wondered was whether virtual sex was considered cheating as much as real, physical sex is. The C Word aka Erotic Role-Playing Editors Note: For you non-gamers reading “cyber” or “ERP – Erotic Role-playing” is when you use text or voice chat to play out a sexual encounter with a stranger in the game… Having played many MMORPGs and seeing my share of cyber drama on each… [Read more]

So you use the internet for work, gaming and surfing porn but somehow online dating is still taboo to you. Why is this? Don’t you know that as time passes on and you become busier, more locked into a routine and more inflexible to change, the dating pool will shrink to a mere cup? With online dating you can have your cake and eat it too. Instead of forcing in time to troll the bars of TGIF and Bennigan’s looking for tipsy, happy hour single, you could easily login, scroll through some attractive profiles and try your hand at a connection. Given the stigmas with online dating and the “uncool” factor that gets associated with it, many people (especially women) will express their uncomfortable feelings about trying things via the internet. We are adults, if appearing “cool” still matters to you, then nothing I say will help your plight anyway. The people who find online… [Read more]

So what is the future of fighting games? Street Fighter 4 has jump started the genre by bringing back veterans of the old series and attracting new blood to the competition. With the next installment being released soon, the upsurge can only continue to build until like it’s predecessors it dies down until the 5th sequel. But it worries me that only a few games are viable as true winners in the fighting game genre. Offhand I think Street Fighter, Tekken and Soul Calibur when people ask “which fighting games should I be playing?” Sure you hobbyist gamers will jump on the new Guilty Gear clone or SNK niche title but is it worth it when you log into the network and find only 5 French guys qeued up to challenge you? (Cough KoF 12). When Marvel vs Capcom 2 was anounced, the nostalgia and positive memories of a huge roster combining our favorite Capcom… [Read more]

It still baffles my mind to this day as to why Star Wars Galaxies and Everquest (though not so much) are the only MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Roleplaying Game) to cater successfully to different types of gamers. There is a continuous stream of newer, prettier MMO games being released yearly, yet they all offer the same crap in a different shell. They are one-dimensional, RPGs (minus the RP) that are meant as time-sinks to attract the loyal wave of MMO gamers who will swoop in, max out their levels and fly away to play something else. It’s a vicious cycle of the same thing in and out. The typical MMORPG assumes that every player is interested in being a hero. This is incorrect on many fronts, not everyone wants to be King Arthur, Conan the Barbarian or Legolas. Some players are quite fine being a simple blacksmith, a cobbler, an adventurer or a dancer. When… [Read more]
