I’m always honored when someone wants to interview little ‘ol me about writing. It gives me a chance to speak about the act of writing itself, which like any other art, is a passion where the person behind the works is ignored–unless they become an Andy Weir. LuxeLifeATL.com is a lifestyle magazine in Atlanta that features much of the news, entertainment, and the arts & culture. If you plan to visit chocolate city anytime soon, you may want to check them out to see what’s going on. From the Interview: I grew up on Science Fiction shows and movies, and I have always read Sword and Sorcery. As I grew older however, I began to notice that Science Fiction had people who looked like me, whereas Sword and Sorcery didn’t. This naturally made me pay attention to Science Fiction more, and I fell in love… [Read more]

Since pretty much forever, there’s been all types of people. Some skinny, some fit, some with a little extra, some straight up fat. As the centuries have progressed, that last group has been increasing its numbers. Now that a lot of us sit in comfy chairs all day and eat our food from packages, it’s pretty easy to understand how there’s just more fat people around in general. Up until recently there’s really been no change in how fat people are viewed. So lets see, usually when you see some extra heavy person walking around, there’s certain things that go through the average mind. Some of those may be “lazy”, “lacks self control”, or even a simple “gross”. Hey guess what? those are valid thoughts. They’re not universally true of course, but they’re about as true as seeing a fit person and thinking “active”, “self… [Read more]

“Think rich. Riches begin with a state of mind with definitions of purpose, with little or no hard work” ~ Napoleon Hill Money is powerfully linked with our minds, and have the power to influence our emotions. Many of us handle money mindlessly, and before we know it, we are asking, “damn, where did my money go?!!” The sad part is, this is a recurrent event in many of our lives, but we continue to do what we have always done, and end up broke two days after payday.  Let me draw on some examples of what I mean: Have you ever caught yourself picking up the tab for dinner with friends on payday, or paying for a round of drinks with the guys knowing full well you will have to slap the bill on a near maxed out credit card? Find yourself breathing deeply in… [Read more]

One of the popular tropes in movies is the one where a masterful genius is shown to be the arch-villain up until the end when we learn that there is someone in the shadows pulling his strings. For the entire hour and a half you watch this master of strategy put the hero on his/her toes and you grow a bit of admiration for him/her. But what happens when the big reveal is shown and you learn that this “master” is nothing more than a deadly marionette? You feel disappointed with the movie and you lose respect for the villain. One of the most popular villains to lose my respect was Bane from The Dark Knight Rises. Bane could fight, he could deliver a powerful speech and he was always a step ahead of Bruce Wayne. Bane had an ideology and carried out his plans… [Read more]

There are certain things that we men do assuming that it’s cool but to the rest of us watching it comes off as either corny or trying way too hard to be taken seriously. Try not to be caught profiling too hard, or faking it till you make it… obviously. I understand that many men march to the beat of their own drum and I love and support that, but what I don’t find impressive is when I see my brothers doing things that should have been abandoned in their teenage years. Even worse is perpetuating a lifestyle or level of income that you don’t have. Now many of you may disagree with these things not being a “good look” but I can argue that most men feel the same way that I so. The following list is a number of things men do that… [Read more]

If you had to choose between marriage to a great partner and success with freedom to go and do whatever you feel, which would you choose? This is all hypothetical so I want you to drop the defensive mindset that makes you want to argue that the two can coincide. Which of these realities would be the most important to your life? I felt the need to ask this after I took note of the amount of divorces I see happening because one partner is an ambitious berserker, while the other wants to have the traditional middle class lifestyle. Nobody wants to be the one waiting, but at the same time, if you are a person who pushes for a greater quality of life, you may not realize that you have someone waiting. It’s a difficult situation for both parties and it comes down to… [Read more]

“Spurglar: a woman who steals sperm to ‘accidentally’ fall pregnant”. Thank you Cosmopolitan for coming up with a new word to define this act. Sure the number of women that are seeking education and careers are getting higher (very thankful to be in that category) and yes when this happens the age that women AND men become parents also has a tendency to also be higher. But does this mean that women should be stealing sperm to get pregnant? Being a single parent definitely isn’t a new concept nor is it an impossible task but should this be the aim that men or women should be seeking? This article was limited to women that had stolen sperm but men can be just as guilty of this too. In my single days, I went on a date with a guy that I met on an online… [Read more]
