The word ‘Man’ comes with a variety of definitions from many different people who (respectfully) have their own means and agendas doesn’t it? Man is defined through the individual’s subjective opinion, influenced (and not lightly) by religion, society, race, prejudice and theories. This of course includes myself so let me start by saying that this is one man’s opinion. There is no universal codex on what a man is. There is however a code that a person can adapt and abide by for life–which makes him stand out as an extraordinary individual–therefore earning the label of “A Man”. This code is what being “a real man” is about. Not a specific type of man, but a certain type of man: a gangster and a gentleman all rolled into one. A man is defined by his actions. His honor above all else, and then there is… [Read more]

When you’re the token “good guy” in a company of women, there will be times when you will be called upon to play the part of Ambassador For Men. The following is a survival guide to help you rep us right and survive the fires of a man-hater. Men, once in a while you will find yourself surrounded by a flock of birds, pecking at you in attempt to have you bleed out the man laws. Most of the time it will be at a house party, but it can happen at work, at a bus stop, or at a car wash window while you watch your pride and joy being buffed and waxed. It is times like this when a man must figure out if he is steadfast in his principles or confused and dazed when made to answer on the fly! Be sure… [Read more]

There has been much discussion lately about women that date broken men only to be disappointed continuously in the end. Women that get with men struggling and weather the storm for a time in hopes of helping their partner find a place of normalcy. And why not? Many good men take on multiple jobs and more in order to support a woman going through school or going through hardships. Relationships are built on support before anything else right? But what I want to talk about today is a specific dynamic, the one where a woman finds a man in a bad situation and chooses to become the light in his life. Let’s not confuse these “saints” with women that purposefully find “projects” to enhance and show-off to their fellow white-collar girlfriends as the women in this situation genuinely want to help their men. In many… [Read more]

Is it true that more often than none it’s the woman that initiates and/or pushes for unsafe sex? When people talk about men and women not “strapping up” they romanticize it into this theory that involves a discussion, a clear choice, and two idiots tempting fate. But life doesn’t work this way does it? There is no choice wheel that pops up with a sad face next to the bad decision and smiley face next to the good one. No, choices are given mere moments. When sex happens—and I am looking at you young, single guys on the hunt—it happens sporadically and you only get one chance at a bad decision before you are stuck with an annoying STI for life. Have you seen Dallas Buyer’s Club? If you haven’t I would highly recommend it. DBC is one of the best unsafe sex deterrents in… [Read more]

Are you lost, confused, and unsure where to go in this whole spectrum of dating, loving and fitting into a world of gender confusion? The following are my eight tips to set you straight if you want to be a man that marches to the beat of his own manly drum. This list isn’t for the panderer, or the man that wants to be everything women tell him they want him to be. This list is for the man who wants to be an attractive and confident man to any and every one. 1. Be comfortable with being an adult male Sure your job doesn’t have a fancy title and your duties come off as mundane at best. This doesn’t mean that you will look any more impressive to change the title and lie about what it is that you do. If you want a… [Read more]

Dear Dragon, I am at a complete loss for words when it comes to my relationship. My boyfriend is a “thug” and I am a college student that is smart, kind, caring, loving, and nurturing. We have been together for well over a year and he has a child that I love and adore like my own. My problem is that he is obsessed with making dirty money that he thinks he can turn into clean money. I feel as though there are too many risks involved, especially since he has a kid in the picture. Though he lives at home with his mother and is not open to my suggestions of getting government assistance, i really want to help him change his life. He had a rough childhood that has even bordered on suicide but he is a great guy who genuinely cares for me…. [Read more]

There is an enormous difference between defending a woman and white knighting. When a person (male or female) is being bullied, or taken advantage of a good guy will speak up or step up to defend them in one way or another – this is not white knighting. When a woman is online arguing against or about men in any form, the male who champions her cause (no matter how flawed it is), has no romantic connection to her, and is doing so to appear different from other males, that man is a white knight. White knights are seen as “male feminists” most times but this is not entirely fair to male feminists. Feminist rules change based on who you talk to and some self-identified male feminists are not out to cut our balls off in lieu of defending some angry chick spazzing out on… [Read more]

Recently the New York Daily News published a survey that stated that men would prefer if their dates chipped in for the bill. The number of men surveyed yielded 64% saying that they paid but would rather the woman had offered up a part of it, but they felt ashamed to bring it up. These men are suckers. Here’s a pro-tip for the men in that 64 percentile – classy women ALWAYS offer to pay the bill, leave a tip or at least her half of it. I am talking about the first date here. If she doesn’t offer and she isn’t a “traditionalist woman” (see below) then it is decision time. There are 3 types of women out there dating: 1. Traditionalist Women – These women do not care for anything that feminists have done to men in the modern age, hell they oppose… [Read more]
