Since pretty much forever, there’s been all types of people. Some skinny, some fit, some with a little extra, some straight up fat. As the centuries have progressed, that last group has been increasing its numbers. Now that a lot of us sit in comfy chairs all day and eat our food from packages, it’s pretty easy to understand how there’s just more fat people around in general. Up until recently there’s really been no change in how fat people are viewed. So lets see, usually when you see some extra heavy person walking around, there’s certain things that go through the average mind. Some of those may be “lazy”, “lacks self control”, or even a simple “gross”. Hey guess what? those are valid thoughts. They’re not universally true of course, but they’re about as true as seeing a fit person and thinking “active”, “self… [Read more]
By now, you have gotten your fill of the public stoning of Baltimore Ravens, once, star running back Ray Rice. He is the newest media hamburger: stacked, grilled, beefy, and ready to feed any writer that needs an article—like yours truly on this Monday night. Rice is facing charges (legally and otherwise) for jabbing his wife in the face, in a Las Vegas elevator. This happened back in February, but recently, he was put on blast, by a leaked TMZ video. Meanwhile, in bigger news, we have more be-headings going on, police publicly executing black boys in the street, and a disease outbreak that will make the oh-so-coveted Zombie Apocalypse look like the flu. However, the NFL is back in season, the players make more money in a year, than we will ever see in a lifetime, so we all focus on them. It is… [Read more]
Recently, I’ve been seeing a lot of things on social media relating to “bossy” girls and how they should be encouraged and congratulated. I find this meme incredibly aggravating because the reality is that the girls in question are not behaving in a way that is at all desirable. Bossy little girls are not being strong leaders, they are being overbearing dictators, hence the negative connotation associated with the word bossy. The people posting these things are implying that the word has a negative connotation simply because it is generally descriptive of girls and women. I call bullshit. It’s negative because being bossy is in no way positive. Strong, professional, accomplished women are NOT bossy. It is interesting to note that these “bossy” girls are being portrayed as both “strong” and the “victim” simultaneously. That they are being both chastised and congratulated for behaving in… [Read more]
What could possibly add on to the perceived “thug culture” of one of the last hyper-masculine sports in the United States? Not much, being that the casual and non-sport fans of the NFL already have the perception that the NFL is comprised of players who are: Uneducated (look at the early reactions to Richard Sherman last season) Criminal (the handful of players who have crossed the law are used to represent the whole) Rapists (Big Ben) Thugs (another term for a scary black person) Over-churched (Reggie White) Racist (Richie Incognito and Riley Cooper) (TBA) The TBA will become “homophobic” by the time we’re into the next season and it will not enhance or destroy the opinion that people have of the NFL already but it will make for a whole lot of news. Right now with Michael Sam announcing that he is gay to the… [Read more]
If I could sum up 2013, I would say that it was a year where the old racists reminded the younger (and more liberal) generation that they won’t be leaving anytime soon. It was a year where the divide between men and women widened into a massive chasm, and it was a year that our boys were forgotten. 2013 made us focus more on Miley’s young buttocks than on the men and women in our military that are fighting and dying even now. We somehow ignored a great Medal of Honor recipient in lieu of Beyonce television 24/7/365. It was not a very good year. Did you find yourself caught up in the hype when people posted Onion articles as if they were real? Did you share a Morgan Freeman photo with the words RIP assuming it to be Nelson Mandela? Are you of the… [Read more]
“Hot damn hoe, here we go again.” – MC Lyte When Jay-Z learned that Cristal Wine didn’t have black people in their best interests, he quickly dropped them and let it be known publically that he no longer supported them. Now that Barneys New York is under investigation, his silence suddenly makes him labeled as the biggest coon in the world to Black America. Why do people think that because Jay-Z is black and ridiculously rich, that he will turn into Jesse Jackson overnight? Go ahead and mull that over while I sit here shaking my head. For years upon years Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter has given us the raw facts about who he is. We all know who Jay-Z is; he is a hustler, survivor, and one of the luckiest men on earth with a great portfolio, successful wife and a beautiful baby daughter. Jay-Z has never… [Read more]
Is your penis size an issue? Do you desire an epic trunk that swings ever so low from betwixt your legs? Well, don’t believe the hype men, the majority of us aren’t self-conscious, porn-star envious, losers that are desperately seeking the elixir to penis enlargement. Turns out that over half of the men out there are good with what their maker made them… this of course makes me happy to hear. The following Infographic was done by Justin J. Lehmiller of The Psychology of Human Sexuality (originally shared here) and shows that men tend to be more satisfied than dissatisfied with their penis. Most articles would have you thinking that most men are limping around feeling inadequate right? Good thing for us that the truth always comes in at one time or the other, and as you can see, it isn’t as daunting as it has been sold.
How many of you women reading are completely happy with your breast size and shape? Who is this ideal standard of beauty and proportions that we are all trying to be?
