peter parker and gwen stacy

If you are a socially awkward guy that has issues talking to women, you should check out The Amazing Spiderman. No worries on the movie sucking as it is actually top notch, so hesitation is unnecessary – I just want you to see Peter Parker’s swagger. In the original Spiderman starring Tobey Maguire, the character of Peter Parker was an overly nice smart kid whose childhood love interest was a red-haired girl-next-door (Mary Jane Watson) played by Kristen Dunst. Peter allowed his much cooler, richer, better looking best friend to take this average looking girl away from him, while he just waited for her to choose. Many guys do the same thing in life then end up upset when the woman chooses the better package deal. The new Peter Parker is socially awkward, but unlike the former he is dark in a way that works… [Read more]

socially awkward woman

It’s a bit sad that we cater so much to the outgoing social women that we tend to generalize and paint every woman with the same brush. While many women may have girlfriends, take pleasure in using girl power to make things harder in the dating game and comment on relationship blogs, they are not the whole. Socially awkward women are everywhere, some are beautiful physically, some are beautiful mentally, and others are just normal. We never speak to them because they shrink back into the background as props and watercolor to our animated series of life. The bold, sometimes loud girl commands attention in a room; she likes us but wants us to chase her while her socially awkward friend would love to talk to us but doesn’t know how to make it happen. As men we know it’s as simple as some eye… [Read more]

Being nerdy doesn't mean you can't dress clean

Hello my fellow IT nerds; one thing that I have noticed about our profession besides the loud discussions on MMORPG’s and the war of the cell phone companies is that we can be some of the most sloppy, uncoordinated dressers in the building. While I chalk this up to our attention being paid to other things that we deem important, it is still something that can be remedied… if you want to attract the attention of the new girl who you are instant messaging your buddies about behind her back… it can be as simple as taking time to adjust your wardrobe – you know, the trivial things! Let us start by discussing money… You make over $50,000 a year, you do not spend much of it (outside of video games and random hobbies) so you are naturally a “saver” that doesn’t spend too much… [Read more]

There are many Glen Quagmires in life

One of the most interesting things that men admit to in life and on the internet is counting down the years and months until a girl celebrity becomes a woman. Sure at times it comes off as a joke but when a friend tells me Chloe Moretz looked “hot” in Kick Ass, I mentally add him to a list of “dudes who would never be left alone with a daughter of mine”. Chances are you have noticed these statements too (trust me) and you’ve either participated in them or scoffed and kept it moving without addressing how truly creepy it is. I am not calling these men pedophiles, we’ve all been tricked into staring at jailbait at one time or another, but there’s just something off about the whole culture of age watching. As a man who prefers my mangos ripe, soft and sweet as… [Read more]

Lewis Skolnick an Alpha Nerd

Alpha nerds exist, they are either awesome or irritating depending on which table you’re eating at. To fellow nerds, the alpha is the one who “gets all the girls”, the brave one, the leader… you know that guy. To other people on the outside he’s the dorkiest, loudest, most annoying sonuvabitch in the place and you really wish you could punch him or lock him away. In Revenge of The Nerds (1984), Robert Carradine plays one of the greatest Alpha nerds in Lewis Skolnick. Lewis was a social reject but he was not shy, quiet or reserved, quite the opposite. Lewis was outgoing, engaging and had an annoyingly loud but memorable laugh and he dressed in his own style which he believed was cool. This is what put Lewis over and made him great, his ego and self-image went beyond all of the name-calling, jeers… [Read more]

Erica Evans was made to sleep with Hobbes

I think it was on Enterprise (the newest in the long line of Star Trek series) that first brought this phenomenon to light for me. T’Pol, a super intelligent and advanced Vulcan female became sub-Commander on the ship despite the racial tension with her human crewmen. The most tension she had came from her Captain Archer who had a deep prejudice with her people after they robbed his father of the honor of space exploration. T’Pol and Archer were always at it but as the show went on their rivalry turned into mutual respect and then shifted towards some hardcore sexual tension. Soon T’Pol knew Archer’s most intimate secrets and he hers having to aid her on private missions and council her as one of her only friends. I can recall yelling at Archer to jump that sexy little nymph whenever she would come into… [Read more]

Celebrities and athletes are good for Twittercide on a daily basis

Twittercide – when you destroy or come close to destroying your career, character and relationships by tweeting offensive vitriol in 140 characters or less. This week the awful game Duke Nukem Forever came out and was lambasted by game review sites all over the internet. One spaz by the name of Jim Redner who owns The Redner Group that once represented 2K Games (the company that released Duke Nukem) took it upon himself to commit Twittercide through the following tweet: “Too many went too far with their reviews… we r reviewing who gets games next time and who doesn’t based on today’s venom” Well needless to say Jimmy’s attempt at a blacklisting rant backfired and his little company was dropped by 2K Games about as fast as it took him to click “tweet”… then came a mile long apology letter from him to try and… [Read more]

Kanye West has proven himself to be beyond hope

Many of us have defended Kanye West’s sporadic actions for various reasons. We’ve put it on him being an emotional artist, we’ve put it on his mother’s death, we’ve put it on the right of a celebrity to be a diva. But if there’s one thing that I cannot stomach it’s when men fight over a woman that no longer “belongs” to them. Granted Mr. West does the same cycle yearly of random asshole shit followed by an amazing album that makes us rethink our annoyance with him but enough is enough. As a Kanye apologist I’m beginning to look like a fool. Crime: Fighting over an Ex Kanye is guilty of being a child that is badly in need of some deep therapy and a good old fashioned ass whipping. Come on people we all know his track record but the recent story of… [Read more]
