“Never let the game get ahead of you, get a better view” – Snoop So, I have a story for you and it is one that I think you can identify with because it has affected all of us in one facet of life or the other. You all have been there and with the facade of life being “fair” many of us run around in circles only to end up feeling disappointed. We listen to the people who got lucky–as they dole out advice from a place of privilege–and we think that they have it all figured out, so we copy them. Sound familiar? Well let’s get into the story. A guy (lets call him Ronnie) walks into a casino and within a few minutes, he hears one of the patrons screaming because she hit the progressive on a slot machine. A man to his left claps his… [Read more]

Don’t you hate it when your body is sore from months of work but you still look like you slam cookies daily? This is one of the main reasons so many of us quit and use genetics as an excuse not to exercise. One of the biggest secrets to getting bigger and stronger is to continuously challenge oneself and be patient with the results! Trying to get a “beach body” or whatever by Summer when you’ve only started working out in March is a lie that is sold to you by workout gurus that are trying to pimp a machine or a Blu-ray box set. “I don’t know anyone that is a beast off of any workout Blu-ray” When you decide to get fit, it should be a life decision. What I mean by this is that it needs to be a commitment that you… [Read more]

Recently with the huge distraction coming out of Miami dealing with the alleged locker room bullying, it became very evident to me how people are easily led. One of the reasons that evil men are easily put into power is due to the public’s laziness in researching facts, awaiting the full story, and thinking objectively. Why do we find it so hard to wait for the full story whenever something happens? This culture of reaction is one that keeps websites like TMZ paid, and allows for any media space to write opinion pieces knowing that it will be taken as fact by the majority of readers. We all blame the big bad “media” on our societal issues but are we doing enough to change that influence? Short answer is no, and when a one-sided story comes out and the public rushes out to grab their… [Read more]

Dear Dragon, I am at a complete loss for words when it comes to my relationship. My boyfriend is a “thug” and I am a college student that is smart, kind, caring, loving, and nurturing. We have been together for well over a year and he has a child that I love and adore like my own. My problem is that he is obsessed with making dirty money that he thinks he can turn into clean money. I feel as though there are too many risks involved, especially since he has a kid in the picture. Though he lives at home with his mother and is not open to my suggestions of getting government assistance, i really want to help him change his life. He had a rough childhood that has even bordered on suicide but he is a great guy who genuinely cares for me…. [Read more]

We’re not only writers; we’re readers and below are some of the highlights of the past few weeks that we wish to share: Pinching Pennies Is Good for Your Dating Life – Being tightfisted with money is not usually thought of as a desirable characteristic in a date. Sites like eHarmony and Match.com publish posts listing ways to detect a cheapskate date — who ostensibly should not be worthy of a second get-together.And yet in the economically uncertain postrecession era, many surveys and studies have shown that being responsible with money — perhaps even to the point that you might be considered cheap — bodes well for your love life. (TIMES) Women, Drop The Pink Dumbbells and Lift Heavy!  – The simple fact is, women should be lifting heavy weights. Yet, fitness magazines show models standing on one leg on top of a BOSU ball… [Read more]

What are the obstacles of dating as an entrepreneur? Well we like to talk about business and money a bit too much (boring on dates), we don’t work regular hours (24/7), and we are owned by our phones and email. The best answer to starting with a woman in this scenario is to either find one who is as busy as you are; find someone who has the patience of a monk; or find someone who lives out of town. You’re probably thinking “out of town! Are you crazy? That seems like it would be worse!” Well based on my life, I can say that it is very doable and while my girl is a super woman in both tolerance and patience, I don’t see why the things that she and I did to make it work should not help you baby moguls out in… [Read more]

I am asking this question of myself and others like me really – I, like so many others who frequent the gym find It to be a bastion of annoying, unlikable people, standing in the way of the workout. The funny thing is that most people think this way… so in essence the gym is a crazy hell that we subject ourselves to daily. The ultimate gym for the workout enthusiast is an empty, private place, frequented only by those you know, and those who are “serious”. By now you probably think I’m an asshole if you aren’t one of the people in this fellowship. It is why lifters aim at going in at 6am or 10pm when the “Regulars” are in bed. It depends on the gym Back when I was at a former small gym my attitude was very different towards members. People… [Read more]

So I have this friend who is a classic romantic, we’re talking old school, Clark Gable type of guy – so of course women love him. He does these little things for his wife that would never cross my mind and then when it gets posted on Facebook the rest of us men get in trouble for not being him. Ya… you know… he’s THAT guy! Well how would you like to be THAT guy for Valentines Day? Think about it, you know the pressure is already suffocating and you don’t want to be Johnny Build-A-Bear just a couple of days before the 14th; pissed off at the price that you pay just for something that may or may not make your girl happy when she reciecves it! Well break out your notepad apps, your Amazon gift cards, and ease your patience by using the… [Read more]
